What Will Cod Points Be Used for in Modern Warfare
Store
Learn how you can upgrade to the full Black Ops Cold War or Modern Warfare® experience out of Call of Duty®: Warzone™, along with everything else that the Store has to offer.
Another submenu close to Warzone is the Store, your home for purchasing various bundles, cosmetic packs, and the full Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War and/or Modern Warfare® experiences.
Here, you'll find a mixture of content from both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare games, nearly all of which can be utilized in Warzone and the game for which it was designed. All items will be clearly labeled with the game they are originally from. If an item is labeled as "Warzone only" or "Black Ops Cold War only" or "Modern Warfare only," then it can only be used in that game.
By using in-game COD Points – the game's virtual currency– you can pick up the Battle Pass or purchase bundles within the Store. You can earn these COD Points through the Battle Pass or by purchasing from the Franchise Store within the Store menu. COD Points purchased or earned in any of the three games – Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare – will all appear in your account across all three games.
There are also some cases where you can purchase certain cosmetic items directly with your first-party platform account balance.
NOTE: You don't have to own the full Black Ops Cold War OR Modern Warfare games to purchase Bundles from the Store.
Here is what you can find within the Store:
Bundles
Bundles are your main way of getting multiple cosmetic items in one streamlined package. Bundles are usually packaged with a certain theme, and you can preview each item of the bundle individually before you buy it.
Bundles are broken down into multiple horizontal carousels within the Warzone Store, and are arranged in lines that can be cycled through by moving your mouse or control stick left or right across it. Here's what each one has in store for you:
Featured – The latest and greatest Bundles will appear in the first tab.
Operators & Identity – Bundles that specifically showcase new Operator skins or content for your Identity, such as Calling Cards, will go here.
Blueprints – Here, you'll find Bundles that are centered around Weapon Blueprints only.
Just for You – This is where you'll occasionally find gift packs from our developers! Also, this section features bundles based on previous ones you've purchased.
Modern Warfare Vault – Across the first four store carousels, the vast majority of Bundles will be from Black Ops Cold War. This carousel will feature content specifically from Modern Warfare.
Bundles can feature…
Weapon Blueprints
A Weapon Blueprint is a variant of a base weapon, complete with a different name and cosmetic differences (such as paintwork, or the ability to fire color tracer bullets, for example), as well as pre-equipped with attachments.
These attachments are given to you on this specific Weapon Blueprint without needing to level up the weapon to earn them. This way, you can utilize specific cool attachments before you earn them by leveling up. You can still earn all weapon attachments organically and swap out – or add – attachments to Weapon Blueprints that are earned organically through leveling up that weapon.
In other words, Blueprints look cool and offer a few attachments you may not already have for that weapon but can still earn in the long run.
We cover this in our breakdown on Weapon Blueprints here.
Weapon Camos, Reticles, Charms and Stickers
These cosmetic items spruce up a weapon by giving it a fresh coat of paint with a cool design, a different type of reticle when an optic attachment is in use, a small trinket that hangs on the weapon's side, or stickers that can be attached to specific parts of the weapon.
Although every weapon can be outfitted with a camo, certain weapon classes may have a different number of places to put down weapon stickers or may not have the ability to carry a charm.
Also, remember that weapon camos, reticles, charms, and stickers bought within Black Ops Cold War Bundles will only be available for Black Ops Cold War weapons. The same applies for these items within Modern Warfare Store Bundles and Modern Warfare weapons.
Vehicle Customization – Skins and Horns
Need a fresh paint job for your ride around Verdansk or Rebirth Island? What about giving your squad a proper rally cry for the next engagement by having your Horn beep a classical tune or more menacing noise?
These can both be done through the Vehicle Skin and Vehicle Horn options, respectively. Vehicle Skins are available for each Warzone vehicle separately – the ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV, Cargo Truck, and Helicopter/Attack Helicopter – while Horns can be used by any of the vehicles, although the exact tone may be pitch shift depending on the type of vehicle.
You can find purchased or earned Vehicle Skins and Horns within the Vehicle Customization submenu, found in the Weapons menu.
Watches
Need something for your operator to wear on their wrist in combat? No matter what operator you choose, the watch equipped within this menu will be worn by your operator in-game. Each one has its own flair and some even have interactable elements…
Want to rep your favorite Call of Duty League Team? There is a watch for that. What about a nice, clean fancy watch that details the real time and date up to the second? There is a watch for that. How about a watch that counts your kills on a cool, retro-inspired colorful digital readout? Yes, that's technically a watch too. What about a watch that allows you to hatch and look after your very own pet monster? Yup, you guessed it, there is a watch for that (and it's called the Tomogunchi).
You can equip a Watch within the Weapons menu, with its submenu located in between the Loadout and Armory sections.
Operator Skins, Quips, and Finishing Moves
By default all Operators in Warzone have base skins, but if you want to stand out in a crowd or look more engrained in your surroundings, Operator skins get the job done.
Speaking of "getting the job done," that's where Finishing Moves come into play. These deadly maneuvers that add some serious flair to taking down an enemy player.
Operators from Modern Warfare also have quips, voice lines they can say after eliminating an enemy.
You can read more about these personalization items and finishing moves – and see some examples of them – in our Operators section here.
Franchise Store: COD Points, Call of Duty League Team Packs, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Outside of bundles, the other major section of the Store is the Franchise Store. Located at the end of the menu, this is where you can add COD Points to your account, as well as pick up Call of Duty League™ Team Packs, purchase any packs to support the Call of Duty Endowment (when available), and upgrade to the full Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare experience.
Call of Duty League Team Packs are one example of a bundle that cannot be purchased with COD Points. These packs allow you to rep your favorite professional Call of Duty League team and come complete with two Operator skins for all base Operators, a weapon camo, charm, sticker, watch, calling card, emblem, and spray.
You can also expand your Call of Duty experience outside of Warzone by purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game in the Franchise Store, too. If you decide to purchase either game, you'll find that your Warzone rank and all your unlocks from the Military Ranks, in addition to cosmetic items and other content, will be kept between games, and you'll also be able to unlock every base operator in both games.
Note: after purchasing either game, a separate download will be required to play it.
